VITAL Pakistan is a
non-profit organization focused on saving lives and improving health of
mothers and children in Pakistan, with initial priority given to the
coastal peri-urban communities that border the city of Karachi. The
organization has helped double the immunization rate, reduce the
total fertility rate and crude birth rate by 30%, and reduce the neonatal
and under-5 mortality by 50%and 41% respectively between
May 2014 and June 2018.
Yasir hold is the position Senior Manager | Research and Programs and leads of
VITAL’s core program - an integrated MNCH package covering a wide spectrum
of care from early pregnancy identification and antenatal care to routine
immunization. He has also served as the primary investigator for a WHO funded
project on demand and supply side barriers to improving immunization
coverage in peri-urban communities. He has many years of experience in the
public health sector, having worked as a Research Specialist at Aga Khan
University Department of Pediatrics and Child Health. He holds a master’s
in health policy and management from the Aga Khan University and a BPharm
from Karachi University.
